Today i’m happy to announce the launch of PlayToEarn.net!
The first PLAYTOEARN Blockchain Gaming rank list!
After 2 years of hard work, we finally came to a point of publication.
What is playtoearn.net
PlayToEarn.net is the first website to track all games related to the blockchain space in a way that has never been done before.
Developers can add their Blockchain games to our ranking list, including information about compatible NFT (NonFungibleToken), Cryptocurrency Token, Play2Earn support and more. After a short review period we will publish the game on our website.
All Ethereum, EOS and TRON based games will be tracked through their smart contracts with our full node. We will display all relevant information that can be found on the Blockchain like users, volume and play2earn rewardings. (This will start end of september for ETH. EOS and TRON will follow shortly after).
All games will be tested by our team and awarded with a Play2Earn score. This score is intended to give our users an idea of how easy and how much earning can be achieved by playing a game.
Games can be filtered through genre, Blockchain based protocols, device support and more.
We also provide Cryptocurrency Token and Non-Fungible-Token data lists. Game connected Token and NFT can be filtered, which makes it easy for Blockchain gaming users to find an easy choice of investment in terms of gaming Token and gaming NFT (no financial advice).
We also provide general statistics about our data tracking and individual statistic sites like gainers & losers of the last 24 hours (G&L comes with the completion of the full node import).
Soon we will also release our Virtual Worlds ranking list. A list based on Virtual Land buildings. This comes with general land building support but focused on gaming land. (Decentraland, Cryptovoxels, SomniumSpace TheSandboxGame)
What is Play2Earn
Play2Earn means to be rewarded for playing video games. Those rewards come in form of Cryptocurrency or Non-Fungible-Token.
- Play2Earn Cryptocurrency: Players are rewarded with Crypto Token. Those can be niche token created by that game or known coins like Ethereum.
- Play2Earn Non-Fungible-Token: Players are rewarded with NFT. Token that can mirror items in games. Those can be traded on platforms like opensea.io

Background Story — How everything started
Early 2013 i got into the Bitcoin space. With an IT background and a little pessimism about our globally used fiat currencies and their nature of worthless existence, the idea of a global currency created by an anonymous person and not controlled by anyone was fascinating to me.
After spending years in the Bitcoin space, i finally felt the same type of fascination again. This time because of DAPPS.
Early 2018 i found out about StateOfTheDapps and Dappradar. Both websites provide DAPP lists and were still in an early phase of its project. I had the idea to build a similar website, just with more data.
In july 2018 my journey of building my own dapp list called Dappstatus.com started. After some months i realised that i need more manpower for this project. I hired 2 developers to increase the development speed. We managed to get the unreleased project to a point that could have beaten existing dapp lists in terms of data (end 2018).
Unfortunately something went wrong.
Our server crashed and the Ethereum full node and our import of data got irreversible damage. This was the breakpoint of the failure of our project.
New full nodes have been implemented in existing dapp lists and we had to follow up on them. We managed to re-import our Ethereum full node and added EOS and TRON nodes, but internal issues did split our team.
So close to our goal in mid 2019, i had to decide to stop the project. Bitcoin went down to 3000$ and the project budget was already exceeded since a long time ago..
6 months later in january 2020, i found out about the term play2earn. Games based on Blockchain protocols (mostly on ethereum), that reward you with Cryptocurrency or so called NFT(Non-Fungible-Token) if you play.
After digging deep into the BlockchainGaming and NFT space on Twitter, i decided to open my own Twitter account. My idea was to stay up to date on the Blockchain gaming space and become a news source myself.
This space gave me new energy and in mid 2020 i decided to use the old source code from dappstatus.com to renew the project with a focus on Blockchain gaming.
Today, 4 months later, the project is online. The Ethereum full node will finish it’s data import until the end of september. EOS and TRON full node data import will be completed shortly thereafter.
More than 2 years of hard work, thousands of hours work time, a lot of self invested money. And finally, the project that I’ve invested 100% of my time in over the past 2 years is ready for the world!
